The RED V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV seamlessly integrates the strengths of RED's two camera families, creating a versatile powerhouse for all-purpose use. Combining the impressive frame rates, lowlight performance, and resolution of the V-RAPTOR line with the global shutter advancements of KOMODO, the V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV sensor represents the pinnacle of recent innovations in digital cinema imaging. Utilizing RED's latest 8K V sensor, the V-RAPTOR [X] harnesses the advantages of large format, global shutter, high framerate, and 8K acquisition, all within a compact and feature-rich body weighing just over 4lbs.
SETTING A NEW STANDARD
The V-RAPTOR [X] stands out as the first large format global shutter camera in the market. It inherits key features from the original V-RAPTOR, including 2x 12G SDs for unique monitoring views, a secure Canon RF lens mount for rigis and versatile lens selection, and CFexpress Type B media supporting formats up to 800MB/s, such as 8K 120P. Moreover, enhancements like in-camera audio pre-amps and a redesigned sensor cavity, aimed at reducing stray light and improving contrast performance, further enhance the V-RAPTOR legacy.
GLOBAL VISION
The V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV pushes boundaries with the introduction of RED Global Vision, a suite of tools leveraging the global shutter sensor for enhanced flexibility and ease of use in production. Global Vision's Extended Highlights extend the camera's capability to capture more detail in highlight areas, catering to HDR finishes with intricate detail or providing a softer highlight roll-off for SDR. RED Global Vision also introduces Phantom Track, streamlining Virtual Production environments utilizing GhostFrame™️ or Frame Remapping. It captures distinct R3D clips for each sub-frame slice, allowing live monitoring of each slice on-set over SDI.
IP CONNECTED
Additionally, the V-RAPTOR (X] and the DSMC3 platform features advanced connectivity solutions which enable applications such as remote control and monitoring, in -camera Frame.io integration, AWS direct upload, RED Connect for live 8K R3D video over IP or live 4K over SMPTE ST 2110, and more.
