KipperTie Diffusion OLPF for RED DSMC2 S35 - Carbon 1

The KipperTie Diffusion OLPF for RED DSMC2 S35 - Carbon 1 softens fine detail and retains sharp focus with minimal contrast loss and flare. Bokeh is rendered faithfully to the taking lens, with minor patterning. Also available in Carbon 2 diffusion density (sold separately). Both use KipperTie’s optimized color calibration.

The KipperTie lowcon diffusion filter range is carefully designed to provide the most effective, beautiful and consistent diffusion for your RED camera. Each filter combines precision, scientific-grade optical components with artisan hand-production techniques. The true optical low-pass filter function is maintained, and color calibration is matched to RED’s standard options.

By integrating the filter with the OLPF, a number of issues with front-of-lens filtration are removed:

• No need to take up a stage in your matte box (if you need to use one at all)
• No internal reflections from additional optical surfaces
• No need to swap diffusion filters every time you change focal length; the effect is focal length-independent
• Filter any size or shape lens, no matter how challenging the form factor
• Greatly reduced ‘sparkling’ and bokeh patterning, with micro-fine diffusion particles

IMPORTANT NOTE: Dragon and Helium sensors have a different pixel pitch. As such, it is no longer possible to be explicit about sensor optical area by referring to the resolution. "S35" refers to a sensor size approximating 3 perf S35 film. This covers all DSMC1 and DSMC2 RED cameras, whether 5K, 6K (DRAGON) or 8K (HELIUM), with one exception:

• "VV" refers to a sensor size approximating VistaVision, or full frame stills film; this is presently only available with RED WEAPON DRAGON 8K VV and VV Anamorphic cameras (sold separately)
