Sony XDCA-FX9 Extension Unit for PXW-FX9

The Sony XDCA-FX9 Extension Unit for PXW-FX9 provides additional capability and I/O to transform the PXW-FX9 into a high-end Production Camera or ENG Camera. The most significant upgrades are 16bit RAW¹ and D-Tap for production, and wired LAN and Dual Link capability for live streaming and file transfer to enhance ENG operation.

16-bit RAW¹ offers a phenomenal increase in post-production creative freedom, to fully exploit the PXW-FX9’s exceptional 15+ stops of dynamic range. Using this optional XDCA-FX9 extension unit with your PXW-FX9 and a single BNC cable connection to a compatible external RAW recorder³ supports export of 16-bit RAW at either 4K or 2K resolution.

XDCA-FX9 is equipped with both a D-Tap and a 4-pin Hirose connector to supply power to any additional accessory. With the XDCA-FX9, your PXW-FX9 camera can be powered by a V-Mount (V-Shoe) battery, offering longer runtime and providing optimal balance for shoulder mounted operation.

A wired LAN port and Dual Link Cellular connectivity to the network will allow FTP file transfer to any capable FTP server. It also provides compatibility with the XDCAM air cloud service.

Sony DWX/UWP audio wireless slot-in receivers are compatible with the XDCA-FX9. Using the MI shoe or XLR on the FX9 camera body, the XDCA-FX9 makes the camera capable of recording a maximum of 4ch audio, from (4) wireless sources.
