Overview
The SHAPE Panasonic AU-EVA1 Shoulder Mount is a shoulder rig system with lightweight support (LWS) for the Panasonic AU-EVA1 camera. It includes one EVAB15 Baseplate with Rod Bloc, HAND5 Quick Handle with Rod Bloc and Push-Button System, a pair of 15mm 18" rods, and one shoulder pad support with back pad.
The SHAPE Baseplate with 15mm Rod System is designed for use with the Panasonic AU-EVA1 camera. It features four attachment points for securely mounting the AU-EVA1 to a camera rig. The baseplate also includes a pair of 12" 15mm rods that are long enough to pass through the length of the baseplate. By unscrewing the bottom section of the baseplate with the included Allen key, the user will find an adapter plate featuring several 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for mounting and balancing a camera on equipment like a tripod, gimbal, or drone.
The SHAPE Quick Handle Rod Bloc is composed of the patented Quick Handle with ergonomic, rubber handgrips, plus the 15mm Rod Bloc. The Rod Bloc is what some people might call a bridge. Each Quick Handle contains a 360-degree rotatable handle and an arm so you can modify the position of your grip. The handle can be rotated by pushing and holding the patented quick lock button (located at the articulation between the handle and the arm). Release the red knob-like button to lock the handle firmly in place.
Thee Shape Quick Handle + Rod Bloc offers three points of adjustment:
- Rotate the left handle when pressing its red button
- Rotate the right handle when pressing its red button
- Slide the Rod Bloc along your 15mm rods to position the grips, as needed
To secure the position of the Quick Handle on your 15mm rods, simply tighten the small red knob found on the Rod Bloc.
When installed on an optional SHAPE Composite camera support, the Quick Handle and Rod Bloc for 15mm rods enables the Rod Bloc to slide along the rods for precise positioning. This will assist you in balancing the weight of your camera for a comfortable fit to your camera rig.
The SHAPE Quick Handle Rod Bloc is crafted of CNC machined parts and hard-anodized aluminum. It features a stainless steel locking mechanism for durability.
This unit is compatible with all 15mm rod systems. It can be placed on the front of any type of camera support, featuring 15mm rods. It weighs approximately 2.0 lb.
The SHAPE Mini Composite Shoulder Pad is an ideal solution for switching rapidly from SHAPE camera rig to tripod (both sold separately) without having to remove the shoulder pad.

- The SHAPE Rod Block on the top of the Shoulder Pad holds 15mm rods for mounting to the camera platform (e.g., the user can attach a SHAPE Paparazzi Riser as a camera platform; riser sold separately)
- By adding extra male-female rods at the back, you can also attach a SHAPE Base Counter-weight (sold separately)behind the same rods
The SHAPE PAD1 Back Pad features a powder-coated, anodized aluminum plate and arm, with thick padding on the side facing the user. It is compatible with the SHAPE Mini Composite Shoulder Pad (SHPAD3, SHPAD2, or SHPAD1) and can be attached or removed easily from your rig via a 1/4"-20 camera screw knob. Additionally, the back pad position can be adjusted to the user's preference (up to 2" vertically and 360° horizontally). The bottom of the back pad is designed with (2) 1/4"-20 threads, allowing attachment of other accessories or counterweights.
A pair of SHAPE Aluminum 15mm Rods - 18" fit all standard 15mm rod clamps, supporting all compatible rod mounted accessories. The rods are machined from hollow aluminum tubes and feature chamfered ends that make them easier to insert into 15mm rod clamps, even if the rod is not perfectly aligned or is at a slight angle relative to the clamp.
