Wooden Camera Unified DSLR Cage (Small)

The Wooden Camera Unified DSLR Cage (Small) is designed for the Sony a7 series and Panasonic GH5 camera, both of which utilize a top-mounted XLR audio module for sound recording. The open shoe mount area allows for the XLR adapter to be installed without obstruction, and the minimalist design provides mounting points on the top and side, while leaving all of the camera's vital controls on the right grip and left side easily accessible.

The cage includes a reversible top handle which can be repositioned over the lens area when an XLR adapter is in use. The handle features an integrated cold shoe mount and 15mm tube clamp for mounting any Wooden Camera UVF Mount kit for 3rd party electronic viewfinders. The handle also folds down for easy storage, and can even be reconfigured on the left, vertical 15mm rod as a secondary grip.

Cameras with fold-out LCD screens can be positioned easily, and an included video cable clamp mounts to the vertical rod to secure HDMI cables and prevent port damage or accidental disconnection. 

The bottom portion of the cage features a Manfrotto quick release dovetail for attachment of a variety of Manfrotto tripod heads (quick release functionality is the same as existing Manfrotto plates). Simply turn the thumbscrew and depress the release pin to slide the plate backward out of the base.

A lens adapter support system is integrated into the base, ideal for attaching adapters with a bottom 1/4"-20 thread (e.g., many Metabones products).

If 15mm LWS support rod functionality is required, the cage may be combined with the Wooden Camera Unified DSLR 15mm Baseplate (sold separately) to provide pass-through lightweight rod support.
