Overview
The SHAPE FS5TPKIT Sony FS5 Top Plate Kit features (2) rod clamps that are designed to be mounted on the SHAPE Sony FS5, FS5M2 top plate (FS5TP) for accessory options. A screen mount adapter on the rod allows you to adjust the Sony LCD screen closer or farther away, according to your viewing needs. The distance between the rod clamps is standard 15mm LWS format and the rods are positioned to align with the optical center of the camera (lens centroid). This makes it ideal for drone and gimbal applications, designed with a lightweight system for mounting any standard 15mm accessories. The rod clamp can also be rotated 90º for other rigging options.
The two-part top plate includes 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 female threads for accessory attachment, and is designed to provide easy access to the camera sensor's reference pin. It is lightweight (0.15 lb / 70 g) and made of CNC aluminum. Another feature of the top plate is that it can be installed on one side only if required, as it comes in two separate parts (mainly for drone and gimbal applications). The top plate system was designed with a lightweight system for mounting any standard 15mm accessories. A top plate viewfinder solution with rods and a Sony screen mount adaptor can be installed on the top plate (FS5TPKIT).
A pair of 8" 15mm rods allow you to use available rod-mounted accessories. The rods are machined from hollow aluminum tubes and feature chamfered ends that make it easier to insert into 15mm rod clamps, even if the rod is not perfectly aligned, or is at a slight angle relative to the rod clamp.
