Overview
This aluminum Movcam Cage with Top Handle for Sony a7/a7S cameras is built to fit snugly, yet still provides access to the necessary camera controls, plus the accessory shoe mount on the camera. The cage features 1/4-20 mount points for accessories positioned on the top, sides, and front of the camera.
In addition, the removable Top Handle includes 3/8-16 mount points. The handle also includes a single 15mm rod port at the front for accessories. It includes a single 15mm rod clamp to attach your on-board monitor/recorder or EVF.
Two other mount points are included in the form of (2) cold shoe mounts. (1) cold shoe is found on the Top Handle; (1) cold shoe is located on the cage.
A handy HDMI cable clamp on the cage will help secure the cable and prevent damage of the HDMI port on the camera. As mentioned above, you can access the battery door, and the 1/4-20 tapped holes designed for attaching your camera and its cage to your tripod, stabilizer, or jib.
This cage is compatible with Movcam's optional Riser Block and the Light Weight Support Base for the Sony a7S, also sold separately.
