With up to 2 inputs and 4 encoding engines per blade, the Makito X offers features designed to address today’s most rigorous video applications. The excellent picture quality at low bandwidth and the lowest end-to-end latency of the industry makes the Makito X platform ideal for internal broadcast applications.
Overview
The Haivision Makito X H.264 Dual SDI Encoder transports secure, low latency, HD video over any network at extremely low bitrates, making it ideal for live, interactive and bandwidth constrained applications.
NOTE: The Makito X encoder is available as an ultra compact SDI or DVI encoding appliance, with optional fixed or removable storage, in a fanless enclosure, or as a blade for use within a high density 1RU (6 blades) or 4RU (21 blades) chassis. Contact an AbelCine salesperson for details.
Power & Performance
Combining KLV and CoT metadata support makes the Makito X ideal for Full Motion Video (FMV) applications in ISR workflows. Moreover, integrated features such as snapshots, logo insertion, Selective Mute™, talkback, and powerful control interfaces enable advanced video network management in medical applications.
Multi-bitrate (MBR) encoding to unicast, multicast, and RTMP enables administrators to direct many unique streams groomed to specific desktop and mobile viewers, set-top boxes, recorders, and Internet destinations.
Network Adaptive Encoding
Makito X offers advanced technology called network adaptive encoding that can adjust video bitrate based on your network conditions, helping ensure that your video stream never fails, even when encountering significant bandwidth fluctuations. When network adaptive encoding is enabled, the Makito X encoder detects if your bandwidth is choked and automatically lowers the video bitrate to provide the best quality stream for the given network conditions. As bandwidth returns to the expected level, the Makito X dynamically adjusts the encoded video bitrate back up to the specified setting.
Leveraging the power and intelligence of the SRT protocol, the Makito X encoder, with network adaptive encoding, lets you stream from any location over any network, with the peace of mind that your video will continue performing no matter what happens.
High Quality
To maximize video quality over your network, the Makito X supports High Profile H.264 encoding. Tuned to excel in low bandwidth environments, the Makito X gives you twice the quality or uses half the bandwidth compared to other enterprise encoders.
Matched with the Makito X Decoder (sold separately) to provide extremely low end-to-end latency, the Makito X delivers pristine quality at sub-2 Mbps bitrates.
The Makito X is ideal for video distribution within a facility, to connect facilities or support remote video contribution, to deliver performance video over satellite connections and across the Internet.
Integrated Solutions
Haivision has designed specific integrated technology supporting end-to-end video applications. The Makito X includes Haivision’s SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) and Forward Error Correction (FEC) for controlled media distribution throughout facilities with Calypso media management, Furnace IPTV and CoolSign digital signage systems.
Flexibility & High Density
For remote installations or headends, the Makito X encoder offers highly flexible configurations, available either as an ultra compact appliance with optional internal or removable storage for dual channel requirements or within a 1RU (6 blades) or 4RU (21 blades) chassis.
For harsh environments, the Makito X is also available in a fanless chassis designed for high temperatures applications. Contact an AbelCine salesperson for details.
Powered by SRT (Secure Reliable Transport)
Haivision’s Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) technology provides end-to-end security, resiliency and dynamic endpoint adjustment based on real-time network conditions to deliver the best video quality at all times.
With SRT, you can optimize video streaming across unpredictable networks, like the Internet, by assuring quality-of-service when faced with packet loss, jitter, latency, and fluctuating bandwidth.
SRT offers significant operational flexibility and cost savings over (or compared to) satellite or custom network infrastructures.
