Overview
The Rycote 18cm Classic-Softie Windshield features slip-on fur and open-cell foam with slots no further than 18cm from the front of the microphone and a diameter of 19-22mm. Not only does the Rycote Classic-Softie protect the mic itself, the foam is also impervious to UV and moisture damage. This Classic-Softie will reduce up to 25dB of wind noise without adverse effects on high frequencies.
Softie Windshields come in two varieties of fur length: classic and short hair. The short haired Softie, known as the Camera-Mounted Softie, has closely cropped dark grey synthetic fur and offers lower profile and a more compact design without severely altering the efficiency of the Softie. It can also be mounted close to the camera lens without causing unwanted shadows.
