AbelCine Also Launches BLACKWING7 Custom Lens Tuning Services at NY and LA Facilities
TRIBE7’s series of BLACKWING7 prime lenses are available in three pre-tuned variations, S- "Straight", T- "Transient", and X- "eXpressive", each of which provides unique imaging characteristics for full format cinema. Further customization of the lens’s look can be achieved by swapping the front or rear elements between the variants to change or enhance flare characteristics, such as adding “X” elements to a T-tuned lens for greater flaring.
The BLACKWING7 SKIN conversion set provides another way to modify their look by introducing a warm amber hue with gold and intense ruby red ghost flares. In addition to standard maintenance and repair, AbelCine’s optical technicians are trained in installing the SKIN lens elements, a process which is fully reversible. A demo of this will be part of AbelCine’s Cine Gear NY programming.
AbelCine’s techs received an advanced level of training on IBE Optic's O-Tool, a specialized off-axis MTF measurement device that allows for the replacement and calibration of any internal elements and rings. This machine is the latest addition to AbelCine’s lineup of high-precision calibration equipment and represents the highest level of optical tooling that can be found in North America.
