What People Are Saying
Even during a pandemic, AbelCine sticks to their standard of excellence. The class was very informative, and I didn't feel limited by the virtual platform. All questions were answered, and there was a complete demonstration of the camera... I've taken a bunch of classes at AbelCine but this was my first online class. That being said, it definitely won't be my last.
– Anuar Aly, Live Stream: Intro to Phantom High-Speed Cameras as a Storytelling Tool
Dado's love and enthusiasm for color science, as well as his technical prowess in the medium, protrude out of our screens as we sit at home in the middle of a pandemic, in what became the first iteration of this workshop done online. Despite the many degrees of separation, the experience remains invaluable. Thank you for a great class.
– Zé Frías, Live Stream: Color Managed Workflow
Rick Siegel shared knowledge and practices that are the result of his years of experimentation and experience. I learned a lot from his personal stories proving how careful preparation, and responding flexibly to unforeseen issues can yield fab results. Siegel did an excellent job of breaking down the process of lighting a scene. He showed setups from simple, 1-light and reflector setups, to vast arenas with six cameras and massive overhead panel-controlled lighting grid, and everything between. Many of his examples are applicable the kind of real-world situations I face: small budgets, tiny crews, close spaces, and tight schedules. Plenty of great info beyond lighting setups, too: helpful comparative examples (stills) of the same scene through various lenses; how to respect your subject by making them look good. Siegel is a generous and approachable instructor and a true pro.
– Martina Reese, Cinematography Certainties: For Creators in Uncertain Times
Very enjoyable and well done live stream class that covered the creative and technical aspects of lenses. The team at AbelCine did a great job presenting the material. I feel much more versed in the subject and competent to pursue educating myself further.
– Pail Hartel, Live Stream: Technical and Creative Aspects of a Lens
This class answered many questions we, as Cinematographers, have on HDR. It's new ground for almost all of us, but it is here to stay. This course gives me a precious head start on many colleagues, who are still lost among conflicting sources of information.
