Follow along as I show each mode and verify its new top-end frame rate. I also go over some of the other great new features of version 4.0. It's important to note that in order to upgrade to firmware version 4.0 all Sony VENICE bodies will need to have a free hardware upgrade (aka a "board swap") performed at an Authorized Sony Service Center, like AbelCine's Burbank and Brooklyn locations. Also, to take advantage of the new high-speed functionality, you will need to purchase a license key.
While cameras will continue to function with firmware version 3.0, the hardware upgrade is required to run version 4.0 and beyond. Due to the volume of cameras that require this enhancement, service requests are being staggered and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Book your upgrade now by contacting our NY service team or LA service team.
