True Match® firmware is now available for Kino Flo LED lighting. This free firmware update includes camera LUTs that optimize the LED output to the color science of some of the most popular digital cinema cameras.
The current firmware includes the ALEXA Mini and Sony VENICE, which I used in my tests. More camera LUTs will be added in future updates. To determine how these LUTs affect footage, I shot with and without a Kino camera LUT applied. Tests were shot in tungsten and daylight, and the log footage had a LUT applied in DaVinci Resolve. No other correction was applied to the footage. See my results at the end of the video above.
In order to update your Kino Flo, you will need to use a PC. In the video below, I take you through the steps to install the firmware.
