At the Bench: cmotion cPRO Wireless Focus System

New from cmotion, the cPRO is the latest addition to their family of wireless focus solutions. In this blog I take a look at several camera builds using the cPRO system.

A basic cPRO system would include a cPRO wireless hand unit and one or more cPRO motors. Each cPRO motor includes the latest cmotion Red RF module built in. The cPRO is camera-agnostic, so settings are transmitted from the handset to the cPRO motor's RF module directly, without the need for an additional receiver or "MDR." All that is needed is the proper cable to power the cPRO with the camera rig being used. Additional cPRO motors (or, for example, existing cforce mini motors) can be attached to the cPRO motor via its LBUS connection to control additional lens axes, with the cPRO motor's RF module essentially acting as a receiver and controller for the entire system. cmotion notes that firmware updates are planned that will add functionality and connectivity for various camera systems.
